Privacy

The short version: India Impulse does not want your personal information and does not ask for it. That is also why there is no cookie banner. The long version follows.

What this site collects

India Impulse is a static reference site. It has no accounts, no logins, no comment system and no newsletter. It does not ask you for your name, address, date of birth, Social Security number or any other identifier, and there is nowhere on the site to enter one.

The site search runs entirely in your browser. What you type into it is never sent to a server and never stored.

Server logs

Like any website, the hosting platform records standard request data — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent, referrer — for the purpose of serving pages, preventing abuse and diagnosing faults. These logs are retained by the hosting provider under its own retention policy and are not used to build a profile of you.

Cookies, tracking and sale of data

The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. We do not sell or share personal information, and there is nothing to opt out of because there is nothing being collected to sell.

Fonts are self-hosted through the framework's font pipeline rather than fetched from a third-party font server, so loading a page does not disclose your visit to a font provider.

Your rights under state privacy laws

California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, including rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing. Similar rights exist under laws in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and a growing number of other states.

Because this site does not collect personal information beyond standard server logs, there is generally nothing held about you to access, correct or delete. If you believe otherwise, you can ask, and we will respond within the timeframe the applicable state law requires.

India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 gives you rights over personal data, though its rules are being brought into force in stages. Since this site collects nothing, there is nothing here for those rights to attach to.

Links to other sites

Every page links out to central ministries, state departments, regulators and other organisations. Once you follow one of those links you are on their site, subject to their privacy policy, not this one. Several government services require you to sign in with Aadhaar-based authentication or a mobile OTP and will handle identifying information; how they do so is set out in their own notices.

Children

The site is general reference material suitable for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, in line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.

Changes

If this notice changes materially, the revision date below changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, by design.
